Now, when Dana Gould came back, he did it with a vengeance. "Let Me Put My Thoughts Into You" was his first post-comeback special (available on Netflix) and it was like he never left. Shit, better than that, it was like he had been crafting his hour this whole time. While Maria Bamford takes you through dark moments with her sweet and kind demeanor, Dana Gould can talk about the darkest of topics with the understanding of: "Yeah, this is fucked up but, someone has to say it." In fact his follow up special is called "I Know It's Wrong". And when the darkest topics are mentioned with that understanding, it takes all the power away from them. Dana Gould's stand up shows us that there is nothing to fear when it comes to dark thoughts. Most people aren't scared of dark topics, they're scared of the feelings they have when those topics are brought up. But Dana carefully guides you through those topics. And when you come out the other side, and you're alive and well, you realize there never was anything to fear.
Again this is an opinion piece, so if you have suggestions feel free to comment!
If you're going to tell me my list is dumb and wrong, please go overcompensate for the fact that nobody listened to you in highschool somewhere else.
